Description

Shali the Remote—the citadel and old town in Shali, main town of the Siwa oasis is dated back to the 11th century. Most of the houses were built of kershif, a special salty mud-brick (that is fragile if gets too much water due to the salt behavior) and palm logs. The old town was ruined during a three days long rain in 1929 and abandoned for the lesser dangerous parts of the town. The crumbling houses stand on a hill that sometimes cracks and opens up, and even the houses have their dangers. The passages and gateways at the edge of the gost town had really interesting colours. This is also true for the whole oasis.

This is taken in 2004 by a Canon EOS 500 film camera with EF 3.5-5.6 35–105 kit lens. Processed and digitized by a print shop, perhaps a Shooter's if I am right. Sorry, no EXIF here.
